Tasting note: Chateau Leoville Poyferre, Saint-Julien, 2015

Comments = An outstanding wine with a perfect balance acidity-aromas. It has a pronounced nose and palate. Its tannins are in the process of being polished by time and are starting to be integrated to the wine. The palate is very enjoyable with a mix of ripe fruits completed with delicate spices and hints of mint (and Eucalyptus). The finish is complex and long with hints of spices and a very precise acidity.

Final Grade = A+

Tasting note: Legado, Quinta do Caedo, 2016

Comments = Complex and intense aromas dominated by a bouquet of red fruits, with hints of truffle and mineral notes. It has excellent, well-defined mouthfeel and firm, powerful but high-quality tannins. The finish is extremely long, elegant and deep with notes of red fruits, liquorice, tobacco and a hint of menthol. This wine just needs to be aged for at least one (preferably two) decades in the right conditions to be able to express its full potential.

Final Grade = A+

Tasting note: “Monte Lodoletta”, Amarone della Valpolicella, Dal Forno Romano, 2010

Comments = This wine is a marvel, one of the top vintages from this iconic producer. Its aromas have evolved to become more tertiary and be centered on chocolate, cocoa and liquorice. Complexity, intensity, elegance, sumptuous finish, it’s all there. This wine is close to perfection and has an incredibly interesting aging potential. It is a good investment as wine lovers are seeking this vintage.

Final Grade = A+

Tasting Note: Vigneto Bellavista, Gran Selezione, 2016, Castello di Ama

Comments = This wine offers a beautiful elegance and finesse together with a good body, mouthfeel and a wonderful acidity. The tannins are powerful but not too strong and complete this wine to achieve a balance close to perfection. The finish is long, refined and seducing, centered around black cherry and black plum. This is without any doubt a superb Chianti with a lot of aging potential.

Final Grade = A+
