The Consorzio Chianti Classico, the most renowned Italian Consorzio, has played a significant role in promoting and safeguarding the Chianti Classico wines (rules and historical area of production).

Its French equivalent is the Comité Interprofessionnel.

Its Spanish equivalent is the Consejo Regulador.
