When it comes to white wines, we refer to the juice that spontaneously drips from the crushed grapes before the grapes are sent to the press as “Moût de goutte” (=”free run must”).
“Vin de goutte” refers to the red wine that flows from the vats when the fermentation is complete. Up to 85% of the total volume may be made up of this initial juice. The remaining portion is made up of the “marc”, which is used to make the “vin de presse” (=“press wine).
