The pulp is the soft tissue of grape berries inside the skin which is the source of the juice of the grape.

The most important thing to know about the pulp is that it is not a colored juice no matter the original color of the grape it is extracted from. The color of the base wine always come from the contact between the pulp juice and the skin of the grapes (which concentrates coloring agents called Anthocyanins).
