Tasting note: ‘Clos Canarelli’, Rosé, 2022

Comments = Here is a rosé that has everything of a gastronomic wine: finesse, delicacy, aromatic nuances, precision and a very good aroma-acidity balance. All with a deep and quite long finish on the fruit with delicate touches of spices and thyme. A very beautiful wine which is likely to change many preconceived ideas about rosé wines.

Final Grade = A-

Tasting note: ‘Clos du Mesnil’, Krug, 2008

Comments = This superb Blanc de Blancs continues to express all its freshness and precise acidity. The overall balance of this 2008 wine remains stunning years later. Aromas of citrus, biscuits and brioche are complemented wonderfully by acidity and a lingering bubble. Its finish is very long and persistent. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest Champagnes that I have had the chance to taste for a unique and exceptional 2008 vintage which allowed the full potential of this single-plot champagne to be expressed. This is a truly mythical and timeless Champagne.

Final Grade = A++

Tasting note: DOMAINE DE TREVALLON, Rouge, 2020

Comments = A red wine of great gastronomy that skilfully combines finesse and power to achieve breathtaking precision on the palate. The tannins although present know how to be forgotten to allow to appreciate beautiful aromas of black fruits and beautiful spicy notes. A long and complex finish that smells of the South, Provence and the local scrubland.

Final Grade = A

Tasting note: ‘Aurel’, Domaine les Aurelles, 2017

Comments = a very beautiful wine from my region of origin which knows how to express the full potential of Mourvèdre in this unique terroir of the Pézénas region which mixes gravel, sand and basaltic soil together with light maritime breezes. A good presence in the mouth with a good acidity-aroma balance. Silky and slightly velvety tannins go perfectly with aromas of black fruits centered around blackberry and a lengthy finish. It is without any doubt among the greatest wines of the region.

Final Grade = A

Tasting Note: Champagne, André BERGERE, Blanc de Blancs, Brut Nature, Non Vintage

Comments = This Champagne offers you an incredible value for money. A well done Brut Nature that focuses on minerality, acidity and a refined bubbles. The aromas are noticeable and balanced but the acidity and the tensed Chardonnay aromatics together with a very low residual sugar are clearly the strong suit of this Champagne. It offers you an incredible value for money at around 30 euros!

Final Grade = B+
