GENERAL ASSESSMENT (1)

  • Overall Quality = Outstanding
  • Bottle Aging =
    • Can be kept at around 8°C for up to 20-25 years
    • Will gain complexity from aging
  • Retail Price = 115 euros for a 75cl individual bottle (France retail price, incl. taxes)
  • Value for Money = good
  • Comparison with same price competition = good
  • Suitability for Diabetics = level of residual sugar not communicated
  • Service Temperature = around 16°C
  • Suggested Food & Wine Pairing = beef with foie gras, snacked veal, roast chicken, a rack of lamb confit, Cantal cheese, Morbier with truffles (French cheese)
  • Comments = This wine offers a pronounced intensity on the nose and a pronounced intensity on the palate. It has a beautiful balance balance acidity-aromas but the tannins need to soften through additional bottle aging. It shows a great range of aromas and a long finish. It is maybe slightly below than their 2016 vintage but there is no doubt that this is a great wine.
  • Final Grade = A-
